Iced Chai Tea

Chai tea is typically served hot but the iced chai tea, as the name implies, is served as an iced drink. The name “chai” is derived from the Hindi word for spice which infers that chai tea basically means spicy tea. Chai tea is firstly of Asian origin but has gained a wide acceptance in several far-flung areas of the world.

For this reason, chai tea is now packaged as iced chai tea and in several other varieties like cinnamon tea, chai tea latte, vanilla chai tea etc. Iced chai tea still contains all the core ingredients of the traditional chai tea but in this case, it is served chilled with ice cubes and artificial sweeteners (sugar/honey) as desired.

How to make iced chai tea

iced chai teaThe core ingredients to make iced chai tea are chai tea bags, water, milk, sugar or honey and cinnamon. All of the ingredients are placed in a saucer or pan with the exception of the cinnamon. Boil the mixture lightly under low heat for about five minutes.

At this stage, it can be removed from the stove to cool down for a couple of minutes.

Refrigerate the tea until it’s really cool. Once the tea is cool enough, you can proceed to add milk to it and stir uniformly. The iced chai tea can now be poured into glass cups with ice cubes and served with a dash of cinnamon.

It is that easy to make iced chai tea!

Enjoy your homemeade iced chai tea!!!

If you don’t particularly care to make out time to make your own brew of homemade iced chai tea, you could order for iced chai tea at your local starbucks store or any other retail store or restaurant in your locality where iced Chai tea is commercially packaged for sale.
